Materials and Structures

A wine bag or box set has to hold its shape, protect the bottle, and look right on the shelf. We select materials for that job: paper, felt, canvas, leather, and the board and inserts that go inside.

Greyboard Standard

We use greyboard at 1200 g minimum for wine bags and boxes. For spirits, we recommend 1400 g. Facing paper is 157 g minimum, specialty or coated. No recycled greyboard, no high-moisture paper.

Six common materials

Greyboard with Specialty Paper

Used for rigid wine boxes and structured bag bases where stiffness matters.

Kraft Paper

Common for foldable wine bags and shipping-friendly packaging with a natural look.

White Card

A clean base for printed wine bags and lighter box styles.

Gold and Silver Cardboard

Used for premium gift bags and box lids where a metallic finish is required.

Flocked Paper

Soft touch material for luxury wine bags and box interiors.

Leather-Textured Paper

Gives a leather look to paper wine bags and box wraps without the cost of real leather.

Six box structures

Rigid Lid-and-Base

A two-piece rigid box where the lid lifts off the base.

Magnetic Closure

A flap or lid held shut with magnets for a clean, secure close.

Drawer

A sliding tray that pulls out from an outer sleeve.

Foldable

A box that ships flat and is erected by the user, with creases that must not crack.

Double-Door

Two front panels that open from the center like doors.

With Handles

A box with an attached handle for carrying, often used for gift sets.

Four insert types

Velvet Tray

A soft-lined tray that holds the bottle at four points and prevents movement.

EVA Foam

A dense foam insert cut to the bottle shape for shock absorption.

Blister

A clear plastic shell molded to the bottle profile for display and protection.

Paper Mould

A molded pulp insert made from paper fibers, shaped to grip the bottle.
